If my memory is right, the Jardine is cheaper, about $130 vs $225 for the Supertrap. Both are fairly easy to install. The participants in this forum are generally satisfied with both. The Jardine style is turned out at the end as compared to a megaphone style (cone shaped)for the Supertrap. The Supertrap has removable discs inside, allowing you to tune the exhaust note to your preference. Folks are running the Jardine with and without carb mods and both sides claim good results. Some of that depends on your particular bike and where and how you ride. If I'm not mistaken, carb mods are necessary for the Supertrap to perform correctly. Don't be intimidated by the difficulty of simple carb or other mods. The Savage is pretty straightforward and tinkering with it is a big part of the fun, even for the relative novices amoung us. Read the posts and get a Clymer manual. Take the MSF basic riders course if you are a new rider in addition to a new owner. Check out the web sites of people using this forum as well as links they recommend. Many are excellent. Finally, run your bike with the stock muffler and carb setup for a while before making changes. You may find that you like it as is. Some of the more experienced riders and mechanics on this forum prefer the stock configuration. Have fun and be safe. Mike M
